Yet here it is, and I hope you find it entertaining. Also, it’s accompanied by some news.

You may recall that when I posted the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I informed you that it would be my last Bad Drivers of Omaha video for a long time. This was partly due to the fact that I broke both my cameras (Dropped the GoPro without its case and shattered the lens, G1W-H won’t take a charge) and partly due to the fact that I’m leaving for college soon, and won’t have a car freshman year. So how do I suddenly have well over 10 minutes of footage for a new BDoO video? Simple. I used to share clips with you guys one at a time, so you could judge how much of an impatient, incompetent ass I am on a case-by-case basis. This video is comprised almost entirely of clips that have been shared on Oppo before at some time or another, but never made public as a BDoO video. I think you’ll find it far more interesting than the first five, even if you do recognize some of the clips.

The second part of that reason is my news. Tomorrow morning, I am moving out of my parent’s house(s) and into my dorm at Drake University to begin my freshman year of college. I have no idea what to expect, but I am both nervous and incredibly psyched! I hate not having a car, but I can honestly say that I don’t need one freshman year, and I’d hate so subject the Alfa to such torture. I don’t know if I’ll be posting less or not, but since Oppo has thus far endured the sinking of the good ship Gawker, I have no plans on bowing out. I still enjoy it here, shit-posting notwithstanding.

I have to go finish packing, so I’m done rambling. G’night, Oppo!

UPDATE: So far, so good. School is great, people are great, classes start Monday. Also, I got assigned to a three person dorm but then one of the other guys decided not to show, so we’ve now got two people in a room that’s half again as big as most of the doubles.

Have fun in college. It’s an incredible experience when you step out and start living on your own. But stay safe. A Texas A&M student just died yesterday, presumably from alcohol intoxication or an OD. And, for a freshman, a car is just a distraction.

They’re all over in Omaha. I’ve never really thought about them, but whenever I post video, I have lots of people noticing them. I guess they’re an oddity.

Duuuude! I feel your pain. Do what I did: graduate and never go back! Move far, far (ok, not that far) away where there is 1/100th the population density. Your blood pressure and your car insurer will thank you. Sure you won’t have nearly as many youtube hits, but you’ll live longer, and you can still watch the crazy Russian ones from the comfort of your internet access point of choice. Thanks for sharing!

Ok, I have to unload a bit after this afternoon’s commute home. There is a street that is normally 4 lanes that I would usually use but it is under construction so it only has one lane open and all of the intersections after the intersection with another 4 lane road are now four way stops. Naturally traffic doesn’t move very well on it so I use an alternate route, but those fucking people who just can’t change their fucking habits insists on using it and end up blocking the four lane road that I do take because traffic backs up on it yet they just go ahead and pull in to the intersection anyway. Fucking morons. Add that to the red light runners (2 at different intersections), people cutting off traffic, and the “special” people who can’t manage to do the speed limit and it was a rather fun filled commute.

Oh, and have fun at college! Just remember why you’re there.

This doesn’t need to be the end. Just mount a camera on your person and record the shenanigans that come with crowds of people trying to navigate the sidewalks around campus. If you think people are terrible drivers, wait until you see how terrible they are at walking. Add in a few foreign students from countries that drive on the left and you will see how they also want to walk on the left, screwing up the traffic flow everywhere they go.

You could also mount a camera on the handlebars of a bike and try to navigate the bike lanes and paths around campus. You'll find dog walkers, rollerbladers, joggers, cars, and jaywalker all doing their best to ruin your day. It should make for some great video.

Absolutely. I’ll drive it whenever I’m home, and no doubt my dad and brother will use it in the meantime. It’s not going to sit around for years unused ever again, not on our watch!

Good luck! I really enjoyed that video. Your mom swears as much as mine. I also appreciate the accurate timestamps, it bugs the hell out of me when people don’t set those. Was most of it done on the GoPro or the other one?
